The Volkswagen Taigun 2026 is one of those SUVs that still believes driving should be part of the experience, not just getting from A to B. The refreshed Taigun gets a sharper look, a more feature-loaded cabin and useful upgrades such as ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof and six airbags as standard. Its 385-litre boot and 188 mm ground clearance also make it practical enough for everyday Indian roads.
The 1.0-litre TSI produces 115 PS and 178 Nm, now paired with either a 6-speed manual or an 8-speed automatic. For enthusiasts, the 1.5-litre TSI delivers 150 PS and 250 Nm with a 7-speed DSG and gets Active Cylinder Technology for better efficiency. The Taigun's steering, stable highway manners and well-controlled ride remain its biggest strengths, although the 1.5 DSG is the version that really makes you understand why Volkswagen keeps talking about driving fun.
Who should buy it? Someone who wants a safe, well-built SUV that is genuinely enjoyable to drive and still practical for family use.
What will bug you? Rear-seat width is only average, the cabin isn't the most luxurious in the segment and the 1.5 DSG can make ownership considerably more expensive.
