In 1922, William Lyons and William Walmsley started building sidecars in Blackpool. Motorcycles were the rage, and sidecars let you carry a passenger or a package. Their Swallow Sidecar Company did well. The sidecars were stylish, well-made, and cheaper than the competition. By 1927, they started building car bodies.
