The Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella is Toyota's first mass-market EV in India, and it is essentially the more Toyota-flavoured sibling of the Maruti e Vitara. It has a clean SUV design, a spacious cabin and a good amount of technology. The 61 kWh version offers a claimed 543 km ARAI range, while the 49 kWh version is rated at 440 km.
The electric motor delivers instant torque and smooth acceleration, making the Ebella easy to drive in traffic. The cabin gets ventilated seats, a panoramic roof, JBL audio and Level 2 ADAS, while Toyota also offers an 8-year battery warranty and a large BEV service network. DC fast charging can take the battery from 10 to 80 percent in around 45 minutes. The low-ish stance means sharp speed breakers still need some care.
Who should buy it? Someone who wants a comfortable, feature-rich electric SUV with Toyota's ownership support and a long claimed range.
What will bug you? The high price, charging dependence, highway range drop and relatively conservative driving character may not suit everyone.

It's a solid EV, but the price premium over the Maruti e-Vitara is hard to justify. You're paying for the Toyota badge and a few styling tweaks. If you value the brand, it's a good choice, but otherwise, the e-Vitara offers similar performance for less.

The exterior styling is a major plus. The segmented LED DRLs and the 'Hammerhead' front design give it a unique and premium road presence. It looks much more distinctive than its Maruti sibling.

The car feels a bit heavy and understeers slightly when pushed hard into corners. It's not a sporty EV, and the soft suspension can cause some body roll. It's best driven in a relaxed manner.

A good-looking EV with a great interior, but the infotainment system is frustratingly slow. It takes a while to boot up and the menus are not intuitive. For a tech-forward car, this is a major letdown.
