The Legender is Toyota's attempt at making the Fortuner look like it belongs in 2026 — a sportier body kit, a gloss-black grille, and the same ladder-frame chassis that's been dominating Indian highways since the Obama administration. Priced from ₹55.20 lakh to ₹61.66 lakh on-road, you're paying roughly ₹10-12 lakh more than the standard Fortuner for mostly cosmetic updates. The Neo Drive variant adds a 48V mild-hybrid system at the top end.
The cabin is where the Legender shows its age. You get 7 airbags, ventilated front seats, an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless CarPlay, an 11-speaker JBL system, a 360-degree camera, and an electric tailgate. But the infotainment UI feels like Nokia's Symbian era, the reverse camera resolution is below par, and there's no sunroof, no ADAS, and no heads-up display in 2026. The second row offers acres of space, but the third row remains strictly for children or people you dislike.
Who should buy it? Buyers who want the Fortuner's ruggedness with a sportier look. Anyone who thinks the standard Fortuner is too plain and the Kodiaq is too soft.
