The Tata Tiago EV remains one of the easiest ways to enter electric-car ownership without buying a bulky SUV. It keeps the familiar Tiago's compact dimensions, easy city manners and practical hatchback shape, but replaces the petrol engine with a smooth electric motor. The current 24 kWh version offers a claimed 285 km ARAI range, around 205-215 km in Tata's C75 real-world estimate, and now gets 6 airbags as standard.
The 24 kWh version makes 55 kW and 114 Nm, while the smaller 19.2 kWh battery uses a 45 kW motor with 110 Nm. The car is quiet, effortless in traffic and surprisingly quick off the line, making it particularly good for daily commuting. DC fast charging can add around 100 km in 18 minutes on the current version, while the 24 kWh battery also gets Tata's lifetime HV battery warranty for the first private owner, subject to the applicable terms.
Who should buy it? Someone who mainly drives in the city and wants low running costs, easy driving and an affordable entry into EV ownership.
What will bug you? Highway range is limited compared with newer EVs, rear-seat space is average and long trips need proper charging planning.
