The Tata Sierra EV is one of the more interesting electric SUVs to arrive in India because it combines retro-inspired Sierra styling with modern EV hardware. It gets a spacious five-seat cabin, a 2,730 mm wheelbase, 205 mm ground clearance and a huge 622-litre boot. The cabin is also properly loaded, with a 12.3-inch touchscreen, 10.25-inch digital cluster, panoramic sunroof and 12-speaker JBL audio system.
There are 63 kWh and 75 kWh battery options. The 63 kWh RWD version claims around 565 km of MIDC range, while the 75 kWh RWD version claims up to 665 km. The top AWD version gets dual motors, 504 Nm and a claimed 624 km range, with a 0-100 km/h time of just 5.8 seconds. DC charging from 20 to 80 percent takes roughly 25-26 minutes.
Who should buy it? Someone who wants a spacious, distinctive EV with strong range, good ground clearance and the option of proper AWD capability.
What will bug you? Real-world range will be lower than the impressive MIDC figures, the AWD version is expensive and the Sierra's large touchscreen-heavy cabin may not appeal to everyone.
