The Renault Duster is back with the same basic philosophy that made the original so popular: simple SUV practicality, strong road manners and enough ground clearance to ignore most of India's creative speed breakers. The new Duster gets a more rugged design, a spacious cabin and 212 mm of ground clearance. Its 518-litre boot is also among the biggest in the segment.
The 1.0-litre turbo-petrol makes 100 PS and 160 Nm, while the 1.3-litre turbo produces 163 PS and 280 Nm with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed DCT. The bigger engine is the one to pick for highway use, with strong overtaking performance and a more relaxed feel when the car is loaded. A strong-hybrid version with a 1.8-litre petrol engine is also planned for later in 2026.
Who should buy it? Someone who wants a spacious, capable SUV with excellent ground clearance and strong highway manners.
What will bug you? The cabin isn't quite as feature-loaded or plush as some rivals, the 1.0-litre engine can feel stretched on highways and the DCT variant is considerably more expensive.
