Expert Review

4.58/5
The Porsche Taycan is an electric performance sedan that proves an EV does not have to be boring. It combines a low, sporty design with a beautifully finished cabin and the kind of acceleration that can embarrass much more expensive sports cars. Despite its performance focus, it is comfortable enough for daily use and feels properly premium inside. The dual-motor versions offer instant torque and all-wheel drive, while the two-speed gearbox on the rear axle helps with both acceleration and high-speed cruising. The Taycan feels incredibly stable through corners, with sharp steering and excellent body control. Ride quality is surprisingly good, although large wheels and India's rough roads can still make things uncomfortable. Rear-seat space is decent, and the front and rear luggage areas add useful practicality. Long trips, however, require charging planning. Who should buy it? Someone who wants Porsche driving dynamics with instant electric performance and can live with charging requirements. What will bug you? The high price, expensive tyres, low ground clearance and charging dependency can make ownership demanding.

The lack of engine sound takes away from the driving experience.

The ground clearance is too low for Indian roads. Constant worry.

The Taycan is a car you buy with your heart. The design is stunning, the performance is addictive, and the build quality is exceptional. The rear seat is a compromise, and the ground clearance is a concern, but those are minor trade-offs for a car that makes you smile every time you drive it.

The Taycan's handling is unmatched in the EV world. The low center of gravity and the 2-speed rear transmission make it feel alive. The regenerative braking is well-calibrated, and the 800V charging is a lifesaver on long trips. The price is steep, and the options list is frustrating, but the driving experience is unforgettable.

The Taycan Cross Turismo is the perfect family car. It's practical, spacious, and the extra ground clearance is a blessing on Indian roads. The 7.8 kWh/100 km efficiency is impressive for a car this heavy. The kids love the rear screens, and I love the way it drives. It's the ultimate all-rounder.
