Expert Review

4.56/5
The Porsche Panamera is the answer for buyers who want sports-car performance without giving up the comfort of a proper luxury sedan. It looks more dramatic than a traditional executive car, but the cabin is spacious, beautifully finished and comfortable enough for long journeys. The driving position is excellent, and the low-slung design gives it a much sportier character than most luxury sedans. The turbo-petrol and plug-in hybrid powertrains deliver serious performance, while the automatic PDK gearbox shifts extremely quickly. Despite its size, the Panamera feels agile and controlled through corners, while the adaptive suspension can keep the ride comfortable during normal driving. Rear-seat space is good, especially for two adults, and the hatchback-style boot adds useful practicality. The low ground clearance, however, remains a headache on Indian roads. Who should buy it? Someone who wants the comfort of a luxury sedan with sports-car performance and sharper handling. What will bug you? The high price, expensive maintenance, low ground clearance, costly options and firm ride on larger wheels.

The boot is surprisingly spacious. Fits a full golf kit or luggage for a weekend trip.

The Panamera is a status symbol, but it also delivers on performance.
