The Porsche Macan is the compact SUV for buyers who want Porsche driving dynamics without moving into a large luxury SUV. It has a sporty design, a premium cabin and compact dimensions that make it easier to live with in Indian cities. The cabin feels well built, while the driving position gives you a good mix of comfort and control.
The petrol versions offer strong performance, while the newer Macan Electric brings instant acceleration and a quieter driving experience. The automatic gearbox is quick and smooth, and the Macan feels genuinely agile through corners rather than simply being fast in a straight line. Ride quality is good, although larger wheels can make rough roads uncomfortable. Rear-seat space is decent for two adults, and the boot is practical enough for a small family.
Who should buy it? Someone who wants a compact luxury SUV that is genuinely fun to drive but still practical enough for daily use.
What will bug you? The high price, expensive options, maintenance costs and low-ish ground clearance can make ownership painful.
