Expert Review

4.48/5
The Mercedes-Benz S-Class remains the benchmark for luxury sedans, especially for buyers who care about rear-seat comfort and a smooth driving experience. It feels more like a private lounge than a normal car, with excellent materials, advanced technology and an extremely quiet cabin. In India, the long-wheelbase version makes even more sense because the rear seat is where this car really shines. The petrol and diesel powertrains with mild-hybrid assistance deliver effortless performance, while the automatic gearbox keeps everything calm and smooth. The air suspension handles most broken roads well, although the long body and low stance still demand caution around sharp speed breakers. Rear passengers get generous legroom, premium seats and plenty of features, while the boot is practical enough for regular travel. Who should buy it? Someone who wants the full luxury sedan experience, especially if they will spend more time in the rear seat than behind the wheel. What will bug you? The huge size, expensive maintenance, low ground clearance and complicated electronics can make ownership demanding.

The active suspension is a miracle – it scans the road 1,000 times per second and adjusts each wheel independently. The V8's power is linear and unending. The 9-speed gearbox is never in the wrong gear. The only minor gripe is the lack of physical controls for HVAC – the screen is distracting. Still, the best sedan in the world.

the V8's soundtrack, the pin-drop silence, the opulent cabin. I drive aimlessly just to enjoy the experience. The E-ACTIVE BODY CONTROL makes rough roads feel like freshly laid asphalt. The S-Class is not just a car; it's a statement.

gaadi bahut achi hai, S-Class toh S-Class hai. 4.0L V8 ka power kamaal hai, aur 48V system ki wajah se mileage bhi theek hai

The car is brilliant but the touchscreen for climate control is a distraction while driving. The glossy trims are fingerprint magnets. The ground clearance is too low for our roads – I've scraped the underbody on unmarked speed breakers. The V8 is phenomenal though, and the ride is sublime.
