Expert Review

4.6/5
The Maruti Victoris is a new midsize SUV designed for buyers who want a modern family car with low running costs and easy ownership. It has a more mature design than the Brezza, a spacious cabin and a long list of features. Maruti's wide service network is also a big advantage, especially for buyers in smaller cities and towns. The 1.5-litre petrol engine is tuned more for relaxed driving than outright excitement, while the strong-hybrid version makes more sense for heavy city use. Automatic options keep daily commuting easy, and the suspension is well suited to broken Indian roads. The rear seat offers good space for two adults, while the boot is practical for family use. The Victoris is not a sporty SUV, but it does a good job as an easy-going daily car. Who should buy it? A family looking for a feature-rich midsize SUV with good efficiency, comfort and hassle-free ownership. What will bug you? Performance is modest, highway driving with a full load can feel demanding, and the cabin may not feel as premium as some rivals.
