The Maruti e Vitara is Maruti Suzuki's entry into the premium electric SUV space, and it takes a more mature approach than the company's small city cars. The design is modern and muscular, while the raised seating position, spacious cabin and good ground clearance make it suitable for Indian roads. It is aimed at buyers who want an EV without stepping into an unfamiliar brand.
The electric powertrain delivers instant torque and smooth acceleration, making the e Vitara particularly easy to drive in traffic. The larger battery options are designed for useful everyday range, while fast charging makes highway trips more manageable. The cabin feels more premium than most Marutis, although the overall experience is more comfort-focused than sporty.
Who should buy it? Urban families who want a practical electric SUV with Maruti's familiar ownership ecosystem and a premium feel.
What will bug you? Long-distance trips still require charging planning, the SUV is not particularly exciting to drive, and its pricing puts it against some very capable EV rivals.

One-pedal driving takes some getting used to, but it's very convenient in traffic.
The Alpha variant is loaded with features – 360-degree camera, ADAS, and powered seats.
The piano black centre console is a fingerprint magnet. Needs constant wiping.
It's not a performance EV, but the power is more than adequate for daily driving.
The snow mode is a lifesaver. Got me out of a sticky situation on a rough patch.
