The Maruti Celerio is a simple city hatchback built around one idea, keep daily driving cheap and easy. Its compact size makes it excellent for crowded streets, narrow lanes and tight parking spaces. The cabin is basic but practical, and there is enough space for a small family without making the car feel bulky.
The 1.0-litre petrol engine is smooth and adequate for city use, while the CNG version is the obvious choice for buyers covering high kilometres. The manual is easy to drive, and the AMT makes stop-go traffic less tiring. Its light steering and small turning radius are useful in busy cities. Highway driving is possible, but overtaking with a full load requires some planning.
Who should buy it? First-time buyers, small families and city commuters who want low running costs and easy ownership.
What will bug you? Highway stability is average, the cabin feels basic, engine noise becomes noticeable at higher speeds, and rear-seat space is best described as functional.
