Expert Review

4.66/5
The Maruti Brezza remains one of India's most sensible compact SUVs, and the 2026 update finally gives it some extra muscle. The new Brezza gets a sharper design, better cabin tech and a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating, with six airbags, ESP and hill-hold assist available as part of its safety package. It also keeps the practical 5-seat layout and compact dimensions that make it easy to live with in Indian cities. The refined 1.5-litre K15C petrol makes around 103 PS and 139 Nm with the Smart Hybrid system, while the new Turbo Boosterjet adds a much stronger performance option with a 6-speed manual. There is also an S-CNG version with an underbody tank, so you do not lose the boot space usually sacrificed to a CNG cylinder. The regular petrol is smooth and efficient, while the turbo finally gives the Brezza some proper highway punch. Who should buy it? Someone who wants a practical, efficient and easy-to-own SUV with Maruti's huge service network. What will bug you? The regular petrol is not particularly exciting, the cabin still isn't the most premium and the turbo version costs more.
