Expert Review

4.42/5
The Maruti Alto K10 is the kind of car that understands Indian city driving better than most expensive SUVs. It is small, light and easy to park, making it ideal for crowded streets, narrow lanes and tight parking spaces. The simple design and compact dimensions also keep ownership relatively affordable. The 1.0-litre petrol engine feels lively enough for city use, while the CNG version makes more sense for buyers focused on running costs. The manual is easy to drive, and the AMT takes some effort out of traffic. Its small size makes it easy to squeeze through gaps, while the light steering is useful for everyday commuting. Highway driving is possible, but it is clearly happier around town. Who should buy it? First-time buyers, small families and city commuters looking for an affordable, easy-to-maintain car. What will bug you? Rear-seat space is limited, highway stability is only average, cabin insulation is basic and the boot is small.
