The Mahindra XUV 3XO is one of the strongest compact SUVs for buyers who want power, space and features without moving into a larger SUV. It is essentially the more polished version of the XUV300, with a sharper design, better-equipped cabin and a more practical overall package. The solid build and high seating position also suit Indian roads well.
The 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engines offer strong performance, while the 1.5-litre diesel is a good option for buyers doing lots of highway kilometres. The suspension handles broken roads confidently, and the steering feels more substantial than many compact SUVs. Rear-seat space is another strength, although the cabin does not feel quite as premium as some rivals.
Who should buy it? Buyers who want a powerful, spacious compact SUV with plenty of features and good road manners.
What will bug you? The design is not everyone's cup of tea, some controls and software can feel less polished, and the powerful petrol engines can be thirsty if driven aggressively.
