The Mahindra Thar ROXX takes the attitude of the Thar and turns it into a much more usable family SUV. The five-door layout, longer wheelbase and larger cabin make it far easier to live with every day, while the boxy design, high ground clearance and 4x4 hardware keep its off-road character intact. It also feels considerably more mature inside than the traditional Thar.
The 2.0-litre turbo-petrol delivers strong performance, while the 2.2-litre diesel is the better choice for buyers who want strong torque and long-distance usability. Automatic options make city driving easier, and the 4x4 version can handle serious rough terrain. The longer body improves stability and cabin space, although it also makes the ROXX less nimble on narrow trails.
Who should buy it? Families who want a proper SUV with five-door practicality, strong road presence and genuine off-road ability.
What will bug you? It is still wide for tight city roads, fuel economy is not its strongest point, and the ride can feel firm or bouncy compared with softer monocoque SUVs.

पेट्रोल वेरिएंट में 4WD नहीं मिलता – यह एक बड़ी कमी है। डीज़ल ही एकमात्र विकल्प है। लेकिन डीज़ल इंजन इतना शानदार है कि आपको कोई शिकायत नहीं होगी। 175 PS की ताकत हाईवे पर गाड़ी को उड़ा देती है।

ROXX का डिज़ाइन थोड़ा पोलराइज़िंग है। C-पिलर और पीछे के दरवाज़े का शेप सबको पसंद नहीं आता। लेकिन मुझे यह बहुत अच्छा लगता है। गाड़ी सड़क पर बहुत अलग दिखती है। ऑफ-रोड क्षमता तो कमाल की है।

थार ROXX अब एक रियल फैमिली SUV है। 5 दरवाज़े, पैनोरमिक सनरूफ, और एडवांस्ड फीचर्स – महिंद्रा ने पूरा पैकेज दिया है। 2.2L mHawk डीज़ल इंजन बहुत रिफाइंड है। 5-स्टार सेफ्टी रेटिंग से मन को शांति मिलती है।

ROXX का इंटीरियर बहुत प्रीमियम लगता है। ड्यूल 10.25-इंच स्क्रीन और वेंटिलेटेड सीटें शानदार हैं। लेकिन सफेद लेदरेट अपहोल्स्ट्री बहुत जल्दी गंदी हो जाती है। भारतीय धूल-मिट्टी में इसे साफ रखना मुश्किल है।

5-डोर थार ROXX ऑफ-रोड का बादशाह है। 226mm ग्राउंड क्लीयरेंस और 4x4 लो रेंज – यह गाड़ी किसी भी रास्ते पर चल जाती है। पेंटा-लिंक सस्पेंशन ने बॉडी रोल को बहुत कम कर दिया है। हाईवे पर भी स्थिर लगती है।
