The 2.2-litre diesel produces 118 bhp and 280 Nm of torque, a significant step up from the Neo's 1.5-litre. It's available only with a manual transmission and rear-wheel drive. Fuel efficiency drops to 14 kmpl, which is expected given the larger engine and heavier body. The boot space is decent, though exact figures aren't readily available.
The cabin is more spacious than the Neo, but it still feels utilitarian — this isn't a Creta rival in terms of premiumness, it's a Creta rival in terms of price. The Neo Plus sits in an awkward spot: it's more expensive than the Neo, but not as capable or premium as the Scorpio. It's the middle child that nobody asked for.
Who should buy it? Buyers who need more space and power than the Bolero Neo but can't stretch to the Scorpio. Fleet operators looking for a rugged, no-frills workhorse. Anyone who wants a Creta-sized SUV without the Creta badge and its associated "I'm just like everyone else" feeling.
