Expert Review

4.42/5
The Carens is Kia's answer to a question nobody at Maruti or Toyota was asking: "What if we made an Ertiga that didn't feel like a compromise?" It slots neatly into that awkward middle ground—more premium than the Ertiga and XL6, significantly cheaper than the Innova Crysta or Hycross. At 4.5 metres with a 2,780 mm wheelbase, it has proper road presence without feeling like you're piloting a bus. Who should buy it? Families who've outgrown the Ertiga but can't justify the Innova tax. Buyers who want three rows of actual seating without the MPV stigma. What will bug you? The 1.5 NA petrol strains with seven on board—you'll be flooring it and praying. The boot with all rows up is a joke (216 litres), and the ADAS suite is locked to the top turbo-DCT trim like it's some kind of state secret.
