The Honda Amaze 2nd Gen is a simple, sensible compact sedan that has aged surprisingly well. It does not have the flashy design or endless features of newer rivals, but it gets the basics right. You get a comfortable cabin, good rear-seat space, a useful boot and a compact footprint that works well in Indian cities.
The 1.2-litre petrol engine is smooth and refined, making it well suited to daily commuting. The manual feels predictable, while the CVT is more relaxed in traffic. Ride quality is decent over broken roads, and the light steering makes parking easy. It is not particularly exciting to drive, but that is hardly the point.
Who should buy it? Families wanting a reliable, comfortable and practical sedan without complicated ownership.
