The Defender 130 is the stretched, three-row version of Land Rover's off-road icon — 5,358 mm of British metal, a full 340 mm longer than the 110. Priced from ₹1.49 crore to ₹1.75 crore (ex-showroom), it costs roughly ₹11 lakh more than the equivalent 110. What you're paying for is the third row, not better off-road chops.
The third row actually accommodates adults, and boot space with all seats up is 389 litres — expanding to 2,291 litres folded. Rivals? The Mercedes-GLS and BMW X7 offer more plush interiors and better on-road manners for similar money. The 130's only unique selling point is "I can take eight people off-road" — a scenario that happens approximately never.
Who should buy it? Large families who absolutely need the Defender badge and eight seats. Anyone who thinks the 110 is too short.
What will bug you? The third row is still less comfortable than the second. The CBU import duty makes it painfully expensive.
