The Mahindra Thar 3-door may soon lose some of its old-school rough edges.

The popular lifestyle SUV is reportedly heading towards a major facelift, and recent test mule sightings suggest that Mahindra is preparing a much more modern-looking version of the 2026 Thar 3-door. The biggest change appears to be at the front, where the SUV could borrow several design cues from the larger Thar Roxx.

The facelift is also expected to address some of the 3-door Thar's long-standing complaints, especially ride comfort, steering feel and cabin equipment.

What will change on the 2026 Thar 3-door?

The current Thar has a strong identity, but its design has remained fairly traditional. The facelift appears to be taking a different approach.
