Yes, the Sonet and Venue are platform cousins. Both share engines, transmissions, and some structural bits.

The Sonet measures 3.995 meters long (13.1 ft), 1.79 meters wide (5.9 ft), and 1.642 meters tall (5.4 ft) with a 2.5-meter wheelbase. Ground clearance is 205 mm, enough for speed breakers and bad patches. Since it is under 4 meters, it slips into tight city parking and old colony streets without sweat.

The Sonet offers 385 litres of boot space, which can carry 3 large trolley bags and 2–3 smaller backpacks. Perfect for weekend family road trips, airport runs, or stuffing grocery hauls. Fold the rear seats and you can even slide in a golf kit or extra camping gear.

Mileage of Kia Sonet varies by engine: 1. 1.2L petrol delivers about 17 kmpl 2. 1.0L turbo petrol around 18 kmpl on highways 3. 1.5L diesel can stretch close to 21 kmpl At today’s ₹102 per litre petrol price, running cost is roughly ₹6 per km for petrol. The new facelifted Kia Sonet adds six airbags as standard across trims, ABS, ESC, hill-start assist, and some trims even get Level-1 ADAS. It hasn’t been officially NCAP-tested in India yet, but globally the platform is proven, and safety kit is one of the best in the sub-4m segment.
