About Audi Q5
The Audi Q5 arrived on the scene in 2008, establishing itself as a mid-size luxury SUV. It filled the gap between the compact Q3 and the larger Q7. Think of it as a rival to the likes of the BMW X3 and Mercedes-Benz GLC. Initially, production for the global market was centered in Ingolstadt, Germany, Audi's hometown.
However, to meet rising demands, Audi added a second location in San José Chiapa, Mexico in 2016.
In India, Audi began production of the Q5 at the Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Pvt. Ltd. (SAVWIPL) plant in Aurangabad, Maharashtra in October 2021.
