Honda ZR-V Vs Audi Q3 FAQs

The Honda ZR-V utilizes Honda’s proprietary e:HEV strong-hybrid technology. This intelligent self-charging dual-motor system combines a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder Atkinson-cycle petrol engine with two electric motors. The powertrain functions primarily as a series hybrid or an EV at lower urban speeds, seamlessly switching between Electric Drive, Hybrid Drive, and Engine Drive modes to deliver maximum fuel efficiency and punchy acceleration without requiring external plug-in charging.

The Honda ZR-V has a 5-seater seating capacity arranged across two spacious rows. It is designed as a premium, road-biased crossover focused on maximum passenger comfort, offering an ergonomic, sedan-like driving position alongside high SUV ground visibility, plus a 60:40 split-folding rear row that expands the boot space up to 1,313 litres.

In the ₹40 Lakh to ₹50 Lakh price bracket, the Honda ZR-V primarily competes with premium monocoque SUVs and crossovers, including: Skoda Kodiaq (2.0L Turbo-Petrol) Volkswagen Tiguan / Tayron (2.0L Turbo-Petrol) Jeep Meridian (2.0L Diesel) Toyota Camry (2.5L Strong Hybrid Sedan)

The Honda ZR-V e:HEV delivers an impressive ARAI-certified fuel efficiency figure of 22.79 kmpl. Due to its dual-motor setup that prioritizes electric propulsion in heavy urban stop-and-go conditions, it offers substantially lower running costs compared to traditional turbo-petrol and diesel rivals in its price class.

The ZR-V shares the same fundamental e:HEV dual-motor strong hybrid architecture that Honda successfully introduced and sustained through the facelifted Honda City e:HEV sedan. However, while the City utilizes a smaller 1.5-litre setup, the premium ZR-V scales up the architecture with a larger, more powerful 2.0-litre engine generating a combined output of 184 PS and 315 Nm of torque mated to an e-CVT automatic transmission.

The India-spec Honda ZR-V is launched as a Front-Wheel Drive (FWD) luxury crossover. Power from its 2.0L e:HEV strong-hybrid system is sent directly to the front wheels via an electronic continuously variable transmission (e-CVT), optimizing pure tarmac refinement and efficiency rather than heavy off-road utility.

Honda opted for the Completely Built Unit (CBU) import route to position the ZR-V as a premium halo product showcasing the brand's global engineering, build quality, and advanced e:HEV tech prowess. This allows Honda to cater to the upscale, niche ₹40-50 Lakh luxury crossover market without the high initial capital expenditure of local localization, while concurrently expanding its portfolio alongside volume models like the Elevate and Amaze.

The Audi Q3 price in India starts at about ₹44.99 lakh for the base Premium variant and goes up to around ₹55.64 lakh for the Bold Edition. Strong value in its segment, especially after recent price cuts.

On-road price in Delhi for the 40 TFSI Premium variant is approximately ₹51.44 lakh. Taxes, insurance and city fees push the cost up noticeably.

It uses a 1,984 cc (2.0-litre) petrol engine in the 40 TFSI line-up. Petrol feel ensures smoother drive, though fuel cost is costlier.

Length: 4,482 mm Width: 1,849 mm Height: 1,607 mm Wheelbase: 2,680 mm

The Q3 has 460 litres of boot space. Enough for family trips or weekend getaways.

The SUV carries a 64-litre fuel tank. Decent tank size that supports long highway drives without frequent refuelling.

It offers about 170 mm of ground clearance. Comfortable for Indian roads and mild rough patches.

With real-world mileage, you can expect around 800–1,000 km per full tank. Ideal for long road trips without frequent stops.

On average, running cost comes to ₹7–10 per km depending on fuel price and driving style. Petrol costs keep it on the higher side compared to diesels.
