Just a week ago, a video surfaced on social media showing a YouTuber transforming the interior of his Tata Safari into a makeshift swimming pool. The video quickly gained traction online as the vlogger and his companions took the car for a spin on public streets. The stunt caught the attention of the Kerala MVD, who, in their typical fashion, decided to penalize the culprits. As a result, their driving licenses have been put on hold for a year.

In a turn of events that could only be described as “making waves”, popular YouTuber Sanju Techy found himself in hot water with the Kerala Motor Vehicle Department (MVD).

His crime? Turning his car into a makeshift swimming pool!

Sanju, in a bid to recreate a scene from the Malayalam film ‘Aavesham’, transformed his car into a mobile pool and took it for a spin on a busy road. As if driving a car filled with water wasn’t enough, he decided to drain the water onto the road when it started leaking into the driver’s seat and engine. Talk about making a splash!

This stunt, while undoubtedly entertaining for his YouTube audience, led to a traffic block and landed him in trouble with the MVD. The MVD, unamused by his antics, booked him under six offenses, including dangerous driving. They suspended his driving license and the Registration Certificate of his vehicle.

Now, you might be wondering, “What are the MVI sections that can lead to the cancellation of driving licenses?” Well, according to the Motor Vehicles Act, 19883, there are several sections that deal with this. For instance, Section 19 gives the licensing authority the power to disqualify a person from holding a driving license or revoke such a license. Section 21 allows for the suspension of a driving license in certain cases, and Section 22 deals with the suspension or cancellation of a driving license upon conviction.

So, the moral of the story? If you’re planning to take a dip, stick to a real pool, not a car-pool! And remember, while it’s great to make a splash on social media, let’s not do it at the expense of traffic rules and public safety.
