Sedans are losing ground to compact SUVs, which dominate the same price segment with their practicality and higher ground clearance. However, automakers are not giving up on sedans just yet. The entry-level sub-4-meter sedan market is still held together by models like the Maruti Suzuki Dzire and Honda Amaze. The Dzire has become a go-to option for cab operators, while the Amaze caters to a smaller but dedicated group of buyers.

In this competitive space, Tata Tigor, launched as a successor to the Zest, has struggled to find its footing. Its sales have lagged behind, and the model hadn’t seen any significant updates since 2020. To address this, Tata has launched the Tigor 2025, a bold attempt to bring the model back into contention.

The starting price of ₹5,99,990 for the base XM variant has been positioned aggressively. It is in fact around 50K rupees cheaper than the former Tigor.

The starting price of ₹5,99,990 for the base XM variant has been positioned aggressively. Although the base variant does not offer drastic upgrades from the previous one, considering the price, they are fair enough at ₹6 lakh. In fact, it gives a great deal at this price point. Features like Smart Steering Wheel with Illumination, Boot Lip Spoiler, Front Power Windows, and Dual Front Airbags with ABS and EBD make it a practical choice for budget buyers.

On the other hand, the top-end XZ+ Lux variant truly stands apart with premium upgrades rarely seen in this price bracket. It boasts features like a 26.03 cm Floating Touchscreen Infotainment System, 360° Camera System, Wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, Cruise Control, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, and Rain-Sensing Wipers. At its modest price, this variant delivers exceptional value, combining luxury with cutting-edge technology to rival even compact SUVs.

With the Tigor 2025, Tata is making a strong case for sedans by offering a range that caters to both affordability and premium aspirations.
