With the festive season approaching, Skoda has rolled out significant discounts on its popular models, the Kushaq and Slavia. According to the manufacturer’s official website, buyers can now enjoy discounts of up to Rs. 2.30 lakh on the Kushaq and up to Rs. 2.50 lakh on the Slavia sedan. Both cars also come with a complimentary 3-year standard service maintenance plan and extended warranty coverage for the 5th year. These offers bring the starting price of the Slavia down to Rs. 10,89,000 (ex-showroom) and the Kushaq to Rs. 10,69,000 (ex-showroom). It’s important to note that these discounts are valid only on August 24th until midnight.
These price reductions enhance the appeal of the Skoda models, making them competitive in terms of value. Both the Slavia and Kushaq are part of the VW Group's India 2.0 project, which means they share platforms with their siblings, the Volkswagen Virtus and Taigun. All four models are based on the locally-manufactured MQB A0 IN platform, a modified version of VW's global MQB A0 architecture.
Under the hood, the Kushaq and Slavia offer the same powertrains, both featuring turbocharged engines with direct injection technology. The more powerful 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder engine includes active cylinder deactivation, which shuts off two cylinders under light load conditions to improve fuel efficiency. The 1.0-litre TSI, a 3-cylinder petrol engine, delivers 118 Bhp and 175 Nm, and is available with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. Meanwhile, the 1.5-litre engine produces 148 Bhp and 250 Nm, paired with a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. The smaller engine is ideal for urban commutes, while the larger one provides a more robust performance for highway driving, ensuring a pleasurable long-distance experience.
