MG Majestor Teased: Gloster's Big Brother is here

MG Motor India has unveiled the Majestor SUV at the Auto Expo 2025. This new model is essentially a facelift of the Gloster but will be positioned above it in the lineup. Interestingly, both the Majestor and the Gloster will be sold simultaneously.

The Majestor shares its design with the international-spec Maxus D90 SUV. It features a large, blacked-out grille with horizontal slats and a prominent MG logo. The split headlight setup includes slim LED daytime running lights above and vertically placed headlights below. Under the hood, the Majestor is expected to share the 2.0-litre four-cylinder twin-turbo diesel engine with higher variants of the Gloster, producing 216hp and 479Nm of torque. This engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox, with power sent to the rear wheels as standard. A 4x4 option will also be available.

The SUV is expected to include Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), 360-degree cameras, auto headlamps and wipers, tyre pressure monitoring, and an electronic parking brake with auto hold.

In terms of pricing, considering the MG Gloster is currently priced between Rs 39.57 lakh and Rs 44.03 lakh, the Majestor's price is expected to range around Rs 40 lakh to Rs 45 lakh. Like the Gloster, the Majestor will compete against the Toyota Fortuner, Jeep Meridian, Skoda Kodiaq, and the Nissan X-Trail.
