The interior boasts three 12.3-inch screens: a digital instrument cluster and two infotainment touchscreens. Additional features include a four-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo and ambient lighting. The SUV is anticipated to offer both four- and five-seat configurations.
The Tata Sierra, a pioneer in India's SUV market, was introduced in 1991, predating the Tata Safari. It was positioned below Tata Safari and lacked the modernity that Safari brought. Sierra was discontinued in 2003 as the demands decreased and options increased.
At the Auto Expo 2025, Tata Motors unveiled the near-production version of the Sierra, signaling its return to the Indian market. The new Sierra is expected to compete with models like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara. Given this, it's anticipated to feature a 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engine producing 170hp and 280Nm of torque, along with a 2.0-liter diesel engine option.
In terms of dimensions, the Tata Harrier and Safari measure approximately 4,600mm in length, with the Safari being slightly longer by 70mm. In contrast, competitors like the Creta and Grand Vitara are under 4,400mm. The Sierra is expected to align with this segment, offering a balance between compactness and interior space.
Additionally, the Sierra is anticipated to be a parallel SUV proposition to Tata's Curvv Coupe SUV, providing consumers with diverse options in the compact SUV segment.
