The MG Gloster, sold by MG Motor in India, is essentially a rebadged version of China's SAIC Maxus D90. The Maxus D90 has recently undergone a facelift, and the Gloster is set to receive similar updates. The facelifted MG Gloster got unveiled in Bharat Mobility show 2025.

MG Gloster facelift: What's new

MG Gloster is expected to introduce a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, a significant step towards improving fuel efficiency and reducing emissions. Toyota’s Fortuner continues with its diesel dominance but does not yet feature a hybrid option, while the Innova Hycross operates with a robust 2.0L petrol-hybrid engine paired with a 177.6V Ni-MH battery, offering a seamless blend of power and efficiency.

The MG Gloster’s 48-volt system, though less powerful than Toyota’s full-hybrid setup, is likely to improve its low-speed performance and reduce strain on the engine during start-stop conditions.

The upcoming MG Gloster facelift is set to bring exciting updates, with ADAS sensors now clearly visible on the test models, signaling the introduction of advanced driver-assistance systems in the Indian market.
