Lamborghini Temerario, the successor to the Huracán, carries forward the legacy of the Gallardo with a bold new avatar. Technically, it’s the second coming of the Gallardo in a futuristic form.

As the spiritual successor to the Huracán—which itself carried forward the Gallardo's legacy—the Temerario raises the bar for Lamborghini’s mid-engine sports cars.

The Lineage: Gallardo, Huracán, and Now Temerario

The Gallardo, launched in 2003, changed the game for Lamborghini, becoming its best-selling model and a symbol of accessible supercar performance. Its successor, the Huracán, arrived in 2014, bringing a modern edge to the legendary V10 formula. Engine: A newly developed 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8, paired with a 3.8kWh battery pack. In contrast, the Huracán featured a naturally aspirated 5.2-litre V10, delivering raw, high-revving power but lacking electrification.

Power Output: The Temerario delivers a combined output of 907bhp (789bhp from the V8 engine and 295bhp from the electric motors). The Huracán maxed out at 640bhp in its STO variant.

Torque: The Temerario generates a peak torque of 730Nm, available between 4,000-7,000rpm, surpassing the Huracán’s 565Nm. This additional torque, delivered by the electric motors, ensures superior mid-range acceleration.

Transmission: Both models utilize a dual-clutch transmission for rapid gear shifts, but the Temerario adopts a modern 8-speed DCT for smoother power delivery, compared to the Huracán’s 7-speed unit.

Acceleration: The Temerario sprints from 0-100 km/h in 2.3 seconds, significantly quicker than the Huracán’s 2.9 seconds in the Performante variant. This improvement is attributed to the hybrid system’s electric motors providing instant torque to the front wheels.

The design of the Lamborghini Temerario perfectly embodies the brand’s DNA, carrying forward the hexagonal patterns and sharp-edged creases that have become synonymous with Lamborghini. From the Gallardo to the Huracán, Aventador, and even the Urus, these geometric forms and aggressive lines have defined the marque’s visual language.

The Temerario stays true to Lamborghini’s ethos of razor-sharp creases and wedge-shaped profiles. The angular lines flow seamlessly from the front splitter to the rear diffuser, emphasizing aerodynamics and aggression. The triangular details around the air intakes and the side sills add depth to the design, while the gloss black rear fender slats highlight its dynamic character.

The man behind the Lamborghini Temerario’s stunning design is Mitja Borkert, the head of Lamborghini’s design team. Since joining Lamborghini in 2016, Borkert has been instrumental in shaping the visual identity of modern Lamborghinis including Sian. Under his leadership, Lamborghini’s design language has evolved to balance innovation with heritage, ensuring each model remains instantly recognizable as a Lamborghini.
