Jaguar's 2027 Electric GT Spotted Testing: Key Highlights
Published On 18/2/2025, 6:07:23 am Author Mohit TanejaJaguar is undergoing a significant revamp, transitioning to an all-electric luxury brand by 2027. This marks the end of internal combustion engines and volume-focused models, positioning Jaguar as a high-end marque.

Recently in Sweden, prototypes of the Type 00 have been spotted undergoing rigorous testing. Despite the heavy camouflage, the vehicle's striking proportions are evident. It boasts a long wheelbase and a low roofline, reminiscent of classic grand tourers, yet reimagined for the modern era. Notably, the absence of a rear window, replaced by a sleek panel, underscores Jaguar's commitment to innovative design.
Built on a dedicated electric platform, the vehicle aims for a WLTP range of up to 770 kilometers (478 miles) on a single charge. Moreover, with ultra-fast charging capabilities, drivers can add approximately 321 kilometers (200 miles) of range in just 15 minutes.
This model is the first in Jaguar's ambitious plan to redefine its brand with a lineup of luxury electric vehicles. The production version of the Type 00 is slated for a full reveal later this year, with customer deliveries expected in 2026.
This prototype isn’t a lone wolf. It’s the vanguard of Jaguar’s plan to pivot entirely to EVs by 2027, phasing out combustion engines—and even its current electric offering, the I-Pace. The Type 00, set for a full reveal later this year with deliveries starting in 2026, will spearhead a lineup of “reimagined modern luxury” vehicles. Think fewer screens, more sustainable materials, and designs that dare to polarize.
