For over 75 years, Ferrari has been synonymous with the spine-tingling roar of high-revving petrol engines. But in October 2025, the prancing horse will gallop into uncharted territory. The iconic Italian marque is set to unveil its first fully electric car at its historic headquarters in Maranello.

For years, Ferrari stuck to traditional engines, but times are changing. Hybrid cars like the SF90 Stradale already make up 51% of their sales, showing that even Ferrari fans are warming up to greener tech. Now, the electric model will test whether loyal customers accept a silent Ferrari. CEO Benedetto Vigna says the launch will be “unique and innovative”, though details are still under wraps.

Ferrari isn’t just about speed, rather also about it’s luxury and personalization. Rich customers love adding personal touches like special paint jobs or carbon-fiber parts. These customizations brought in 20% of Ferrari’s revenue last year, up from 19% in 2023. This trend helped the company’s profits (EBITDA) jump 12% to €2.56 billion in 2024. For 2025, they’re aiming even higher, targeting €2.68 billion. Investors are thrilled too—share prices rose 7.6% after the announcement.

Electric Ferrari: What to Expect?

Design: While Ferrari keeps secrets tighter than Bollywood plot twists, expect a sleek, modern look. The classic curves might stay, but the grille could vanish for better aerodynamics.

Performance: Will it feel like a Ferrari without the engine roar? The company promises to keep the “emotional” driving experience alive, possibly using fake engine sounds or vibrations.

Tech: Ferrari will likely use its own platform, not shared with other brands, to keep things exclusive. Battery specs? Still a mystery!

Ferrari’s electric move isn’t merely about technology, it’s also about survival. With strict emission laws and growing demand for eco-friendly cars, even luxury brands must adapt. Hybrids were the first step; the EV is the future. As Vigna says, Ferrari sells “dreams”, not just cars. Now, those dreams are going green.
