Maruti Suzuki's e Vitara is its first electric vehicle, marking the company's entry into the EV market. While Maruti may be a latecomer to this segment, history shows that when it enters a market, it does so decisively, often outpacing competitors. Take the Vitara Brezza, for instance. Launched in 2016, it quickly became a leader in the compact SUV segment, achieving sales milestones faster than its rivals.

Similarly, the Fronx SUV has made significant strides, with Maruti Suzuki commencing its export to Japan, marking it as the first SUV from the company to launch there.

Now e Vitara is in the line.

Maruti Suzuki plans to export the e Vitara to over 100 countries, including:

Japan European nations Middle East Africa Central and South America

Centralizing production in India allows Maruti Suzuki to leverage economies of scale, reducing per-unit costs. India's established infrastructure and skilled labor force contribute to efficient manufacturing processes. Suzuki Motor President Toshihiro Suzuki highlighted India's scale advantages for producing high-quality electric vehicles (EVs) and other green technologies.

Maruti Suzuki aims to significantly boost its overseas shipments, targeting exports of 750,000 to 800,000 units annually by 2030. This focus on exports underscores the company's commitment to expanding its global footprint while maintaining a centralized production base.
